A Story of Faith, Flavor & Fine Dining

Nina Vietri was born just south of Philadelphia in Wilmington, DE, and was raised close by in Hockessin, DE. She is the daughter of a nurse, and her dad is still an active mushroom farmer to this day. She is a part of a very strong Italian family, and her heritage has played a huge role in molding her into the person she is today.

As an Italian, FOOD and FAMILY are everything to her. After spending a brief period of time in her twenties as a preschool teacher (kids are another huge passion of hers), she decided to follow her dreams of becoming a chef. Inspired by her warm memories of the holidays with her large family, especially with her grandfather, she knew that cooking was her greatest way to express love and bring people together. 

Her culinary career has taken her to prestigious hotels and restaurants from Philly all the way out to the beaches of Delaware—where she has filled just about every role a chef could ever be asked along the way. All the while, she traveled the country every chance she had, learning the cuisines, techniques, and cultures of the places she’d visit.

After having spent the last few years as a private chef and caterer doing dinner parties as well as large holiday galas, it was in the late spring of 2024 that Nina decided to take her culinary journey to the next level after only being home from her trip in Italy, no later than 48 hours, she states. She decided to close in on her dream of opening her own restaurant—Vietri’s Cucina! 

The over 100 year old Bohemia avenue building is tucked away in a quiet corner of the historic town of Chesapeake City, MD, the same small town Nina resides in with her young son, Albert.
