In her current capacity as CFO and founder of Transit Marketing Group Inc., Deborah’s experience in business dates from 1983. Her industry experience includes public relations, marketing and organizational management.
Her animal rescue and care experience began in 2004, as a foster for a southern California shelter. She has since fostered for several shelters and private rescue organizations, prior to co-founding Helen Sanders CatPAWS in early 2010. Her responsibilities at CatPAWS include fostering, working directly with shelters and developing programs to reduce euthanasia, community outreach, administering the spay/neuter program, fundraising, donor relations and special projects.

She continues to live with disabilities related to her premature birth, including Mild Cerebral Palsy, scoliosis, and hand paralysis. Drawing from her personal experiences, Shawna uses her platform to advocate for disability awareness, inclusion, perseverance, and real-life accessibility while inspiring others through honest conversations and impactful storytelling.
